Liz achieved her PhD in electronics engineering in 2020 with her thesis titled "Detection and mitigation of GNSS interference for robust navigation and timing."
Following university, she worked as an electronics hardware development engineer at Pico Technology, working on high-bandwidth oscilloscopes. Her work covered RF, analogue and digital hardware design and embedded, application and HDL programming; she was involved in projects all the way from prototyping to manufacture. After a number of years of feeling something wasn't quite right, she made the move to technical writing and she hasn't looked back.
Liz spent a year writing everything she could about oscilloscopes. She wrote user guides for new features, product pages for new products and application notes for new applications.
In between writing, Liz also worked hard to improve communication between development, sales and marketing, making use of her unique position and experience.
Besides engineering and writing, she also worked as technical compliance engineer and has experience with LVD and EN 61010.
Liz has hugely diverse interests, from woodworking and DIY, to crochet and baking, to kayaking and cycling. She lives in Cambridgeshire with her four guinea pigs.
